C. J. Hayden’s “Get Clients Now!” shows authors and membership site owners how to choose a book title and leverage its profits

At Published & Profitable, I frequently use C. J. Hayden’s Get Clients Now! as an excellent example of short, benefit-oriented, book title. The title, especially when combined with the accompanying subtitle, A 28-Day Marketing Program for Professionals, Consultants, and Coaches makes an unmistakable promise. Prospective readers know exactly why they should buy the book and they know how long it will take them to enjoy the book’s benefit. No wonder the book is in its second edition.
C. J.’s website, www.getclientsnow.com, has as many lessons to teach as her book title and execution. Her website offers an excellent example of leveraging a book into a business and a brand, one that offers multiple products and services. Unlike many authors, she has managed to create a business that leverages her ideas into delegable tasks for employees and marketing partners. In one screen, she offers a variety of coaching and consulting services, plus “train the trainer” facilitator offerings for those who want to bring her ideas to local markets.
Behind the “conventional” home page, however, there’s a paid membership area. Members enjoy access to an online Answer Center that offers controlled access to audios, interviews, 60+ articles, and a blog-based list of answers to frequently asked questions.
I am intrigued by the idea of calling it an “answer center,” and its presentation–as well as the way it delivers relevant information. I’d be interested in hearing what other membership site owners think of the idea of linking a membership site to a conventional website, the way that C. J. Hayden has done. If you visit, note the way the site–actually located on a different URL–shares the same “look” as the main site.
