Writing resource for improving response to membership site landing pages, sign-up pages, and squeeze pages
Filed Under Marketing
During a Published & Profitable interview I conducted with Rick Frishman, 30-year veteran author, publicist, and publisher, I was reminded of a book that might help membership site owners create more effective landing pages, sign-up pages, and squeeze pages. The book is Patrick G. Riley’s The One-Page Proposal: How to Get Your Business Pitch onto One Persuasive Page.
While Rick was talking about book titles and subtitles, and the element of “promise,” it struck me that every membership site owner is offering the promise of change to potential members, exactly the same way that new business proposals offer the promise of change to prospective clients, or author book proposals offer publishers the promise of future publishing profits. Note: although I generally don’t make it available, for a limited time, you can download a newsletter I wrote on the One-Page Proposal topic.
What I have always liked about The One-Page Proposal is its conciseness. It’s not a long book, and it’s certainly an expensive one. But, it’s long enough to provide membership site owners with a new perspective for creating landing pages, sign-up pages, and squeeze pages. Basically, these are simply “proposals” in disguise–and should be written as concisely as possible to appeal to busy prospects.
