As a MAC user, Camtasia is THE program I really miss on the PC.

Sure there are MAC software that will do screen recording (SnapZ Pro, iShowU, and Screen Mimic come to mind). But these pale in comparison to the power of Camtasia!

The only way to use a screen recorder on a MAC from TechSmith was to use Jing which is FREE and very basic.

Well, guess what? Camtasia is coming to the MAC!!!

I heard rumblings a few months ago, but we can sign up for MAC news from TechSmith. TechSmith is the maker of Camtasia and SnagIt (they are currently evaluating the demand from the MAC community for it. So, it won’t be available from some time.)

Camtasia will be at MacWorld in early January so presumably that’s more than just promoting Jing. Fingers crossed!

My fingers are crossed. (And eyes, toes, and …)

It’s such wonderful news. I can’t tell you how exciting it will be for Camtasia to F-I-N-A-L-L-Y crossover to the MAC!
