Change and membership site success
After spending the past few days reviewing the contents of my about-to-launch site, www.publishedandprofitable.com, it suddenly struck me that membership site success shares a lot in common with book publishing success. Both share a common origin in the quest for change.
Once you leave the realm of “celebrity” business book authors, such as GE’s Jack Welch, etc., the formula for success often involves identifying the change that readers are seeking, i.e., Get Clients Now!, Book Yourself Solid, or Speak and Grow Rich.
In a similar way, membership sites success also depends upon the owner’s ability to tap into their market’s desire for change. And, like books, the narrower the market, and the more emphasis on change, the better.
The most important questions that site owners should ask themselves is:
- Who are my “target” members?
- What do they want to change in their careers or their lives?
- How can I help them?
Most important, in your site title’s, are you tapping into your market’s desire for change, or are you simply identifying what the site is all about?
